When Esse was founded in 2017, many people told me that it was going to be near to impossible to build a sustainable fashion brand. Back then, sustainability had the connotations of bohemian, hippie looking clothes, coupled with eye-watering retail prices.
As we fast forward to 2020, I’m heartened to see how much has changed. Most importantly, I look back at how our community has grown and how you have inspired us to become better at what we do.
Since the very beginning, I dreamt up a platform where we could feature our muses - the real women who make up our community. I wanted to be able to share stories about our makers, touch on topics around sustainability and spark a conversation on how to live more consciously.
As the brand and our community has grown, 2020 feels like the right time to work on this passion project - our journal. And so, as we unveil the journal today, I’d like to welcome you to this space - a cosy and sometimes thought-provoking intersection about everything and everyone that we love.
Come join us on this journey.
